Text Msgs via Twitter
Coach Chris Johnson is using http://Twitter.com/hickmanlacrosse to broadcast important information concerning Hickman Lacrosse to subscribed cell phones using text messaging. He's not going to spam us with daily reminders about practice but he will be able to contact us in the event of a changes in Practice or Game schedule or weather delay. Here is how to join in on these important messages. You have to have an email address and a cell phone capable of receiving (affordable*) text messages.
Easy way: Text twitter (40404, yes just 5 digits). The text of the message should be:
ON HICKMANLACROSSE
Upper case or lower doesn't matter.
More complicated way:
1. Go to http://Twitter.com/hickmanlacrosse and Login or Join Twitter. This requires your email address.
2. Under Settings, Devices, Add your cell phone. It will prompt you to send a short text message to 40404. It typically uses the first letter of each key to make it a really convenient text message for those of us without Querty smart phones.
3. Return to http://Twitter.com/hickmanlacrosse and click "Follow" under the Kewpie
4. Be sure you set the Device Updates to ON to get the messages on your phone.
