About the Team
Hickman Lacrosse Club Information
THE GAME
Lacrosse is a ball and stick game using two ten player teams. Each team has 4 positions: attack, defense, midfield, and goal keeper. There are 3 attack (offensive/scoring position), 3 defense (responsible of defending the goal), 3 mid fielders (cover the entire field play both offense and defense), and 1 goalkeeper who is responsible for keeping the opposing team from scoring by protecting the goal. Players in each position must master the basic skills of catching, throwing, cradling, and scooping the ball while in motion. The object of the game is to shoot a 5-ounce rubber ball into your opponents net while preventing them from doing the same.
